Our primary challenge was communicating the brand’s position between the personal, traditional elements of family-owned and operated farming, and the cutting-edge technological innovations that drive the company forward. Adding to this challenge was the fact that BC Hop Company deals both with hemp and the premium hops markets.

In order to craft a clear message we identified the spaces where the brand’s multiple themes over-lap to create a unique space of their own. Positioning and strategy was developed from here.

Design was derived from the brands foundations such as Core Values, Mission, Vision, Archetype and Attributes; and from a deep consideration of the environments the company operates in. Picturesque farms, Canadian landscapes, and the lush West Coast environments of British Columbia offered natural inspiration.

The brand needed to be strong on and offline.  Themes and foundations were carried forward into various levels of design, including high-end printed collateral. Every detail was considered, from applications and usage, to the weight and texture of the card stock

BC Hop Co is the innovator of a unique, ground-breaking system called the REx™ Proven Process. It combines a wide range of features that are nestled within seven distinctive phases. In order to simplify the communication of this complex, multi-step process we designed custom icons and graphics that can be used across a variety of platforms.

Two websites were created. The primary site to communicate the brand's story, messaging, value propositions and inform visitors. And a secondary site to facilitate transactions for legally approved high-CBD hemp seeds.

BC Hop Company is one of Canada's most innovative agri-technology firms. They operate a rapidly expanding empire within the CBD market with a focus on cultivation, pre-extraction and related verticals. All while honouring a long-lasting tradition of Canadian family farming. 

Having started its existence years earlier in the premium hops business, this project was focused on bringing the company's branding, messaging and presence into alignment with its market position in hemp.

Working with our partners, we re-developed BC Hop Co's verbal and visual identity, and a dynamic online presence to set them apart in the Canadian hemp market. The project was rounded out with a full compliment of designed collateral and video.
