Identity, Graphics, Web
Everyone has things about themselves that other people are sometimes surprised to learn. Mine is art.
I've been an artist since I was old enough to hold a crayon, but its only since late 2017 that I've done it professionally. "Saint Saturday" is a reference to my middle name (Saturnus), and began as my Instagram handle. As my work caught on, people in the art world began calling me by that instead of Nikko and the moniker stuck. Today, my art is represented by galleries and collections around the world.
My art explores the paradoxical nature of humanity. Ideas of beauty and brutality, divinity and damnation, ferocity and frailty, flesh and spirit, mortality and magnificence are all present. I'm inspired by the Baroque era works of the Old Masters such as Caravaggio, the Classical Era, mythology, modernism and the god-like sense of alienation we've created through technology.
I wanted my on-line presence to reflect the art and be an extension of it. If I can change people for the better and elevate culture in the process, its all been worth it.
I still struggle with the sheer hubris of all this.
